Yeah after 2:00pm on Fridays I can basically run around in my boxers and set things on fire and no one would notice... so I figure it's safe to spend my time on the mule.

Yeah I got hit twice in a week for the Macy's cards: Mayo and Steve both. Totally not my fault. Plus Mayo's hit me like three times now. So either nobody's told him or he is in fact ACTUALLY working for Macy's.

Matt, I was actually thinking about this one day at work.
I came up with a band name I kinda liked but then I remembered I don't actually have a band.
But seriously, I think you mentioned one time before that you still weren't sure about Reveler. I definitely think you and Tom are both sort of right about a band name sort of giving you guys an identity and the possibility of being stuck with a certain expectation, etc.
I doubt it's what you're looking for but I thought The Stereotypes made for an ironic name (it makes me think of a punk band or something (plus I think it's taken by some band in California...I seem to recall googling it when I got home0 (that's what she said (i wonder if this gets confusing with all of the ( )'s) but i'll throw it out there anyways and let you know if anything else springs to mind.
But maybe you could help with the sort of flavor or feeling were you looking for? Like...how would YOU describe your sound. Because I'm pretty certain The Graverobbers or Bangers and Mash or something isn't your cup of tea?

That name is definitely cool. There is some band in San Diego currently doing it great injustice.
But it kinda carries some pretense to it. Band names that are ironic because they take a word or phrase out of context seem like a dime a dozen these days.
I think I'm looking for something catchy off the tongue, that's about as simple as it gets. Doesn't have to have any sort of ironic meaning or anything. Any nonsensical mash of words can work. Like Band of Horses or My Morning Jacket, you know?
Though I'm probably overthinking and am being way too critical... I always do that crap.
Anyways, Stereotypes will certainly be in consideration. Thanks for the help.

Cool. Like I said...I'll definitely let you know if I come up with something although I tend to believe it's probably one of those things where you're not necessarily going to be truly happy with it unless it comes from your own noggin...which is nothing critical against you. I think that's just the way these things work? Like if I were to say I'm searching for a title to my movie and in that case I could even possibly tell you what it's about or let you read it (if I ever get it done, that is) and yet even then I think only the person or persons responsible truly know what feeling they're trying to evoke...but if nothing else i could see it as a way of sparking some creativity and still inspiring you to come up with your own unique name. Like even now...I can understand what you mean by the ironic band names being a dime a dozen these days and so you're that much closer perhaps to figuring out what name IS right. I have to tell myself these things when it takes years and years to write a script and i feel like i've still got nothing to show for it...because i can tell myself...at least this is what i've come to the conclusion it is NOT. i know with the stereotypes, it's not necessarily just the ironic context...but just that it could take different meanings...i tend to like things like that i suppose...so there's the word stereotype...like cliche or whatever....and there's also the idea that bands are heard on stereos...you get the idea. like smashing pumpkins is aggressive but also smashing means "marvelous."

you know...i actually really like that.
i was thinking about this some more the other day and i sort of came to the realization you're the only ones who will come up with a band name you actually like.
i did feel it was within my power to make suggestions or point you in certain directions, etc. and while this may seem obvious at first, let me explain. rather than trying to continue coming up with band names i thought i might try instead to push you to think about the band in certain ways you might not have before. like trying to get you to consider your "sound" or "location" or "history," etc. these are the things which make you guys unique and i thought you should try to tap into that.
now the thing i like about "cavalry" is its power of suggestion. it conjures an image, which for me at least was sort of the cavalry of the civil war...now doing a wikipedia search i've discovered the term is much, much broader...but i personally liked the association because it gave the band a sense of origin. you're a virginia band but i think you've got the distinction of not necessarily sounding like one (ie. pat mcgee or DMB, etc.) and so you're leading the charge, so it's sort of an aggressive name without sounding like "a painless death" or "the beheaders of berkshire."
if nothing else it might be a good starting point...like perhaps it is a specific "cavalry"? a "cavalry of ____" or "______'s cavalry"...but even as just "cavalry" i believe i like it better than "reveler."

Nice. I kinda dig it too. Although it's another one of those awkward words. Cavalry... Calvary?
