anybody else think that between this and christopher nolan's batman flicks this guy might just be unstoppable? R rating or not, i'm calling this as best movie of the summer of 2009 ahead of time. it might not make the most money...but i think it's going to be the one to beat in terms of pure quality. it's hard to believe it's directed by the same guy who made both charlie's angels movies and the offspring's "pretty fly for a white guy" video, but this thing gave me goosebumps. movies.yahoo.com/feature/terminator-salvation.html?showVideo=1

Yeah, looks pretty cool. But isn't using NIN the most obvious choice in trailer music for this movie?
It looks like this director's approach is going to be like everything we've seen before...
But I guess it's less about his unique vision of a post-apocalyptic future and more about big, impressive robotz. I'm fine with enjoying it for that reason. I still love T2. The effects in that movie are still better than most crap that is coming out these days.
I think I saw half of T3, and hated it. I don't remember who directed that... it's not the same dude, is it?

nah, this is by mcg. terminator 3 was done by jonathan mostow. only other thing i can think of that he's done is that submarine movie u571 with bon jovi. but i'm not entirely sure it's fair to blame him for t3 anyways...some of that might've been the script too. and if anything i'd say that t3 was more of the same except in the end they finally said judgement day was unavoidable and let us see it happen as the machines started coming alive and taking over.
this one's basically ALL post apocalypse which i think already makes it different. plus, possibly no arnold in it. it's more of a futuristic war movie in some ways. think of it as apocalypse soonish.
agreed on t2 and the effects. and on the NIN, except they could've just used the old marco beltrami score so i kinda prefer they didn't. plus, just cuz it's obvious doesn't exactly make it the wrong selection.
and i also think this is already showing more promise than t3, so the director can't be doing too bad a job.
